Orange County has seen protesting over the past few weeks in support of opening businesses and resuming life. As impatient as county residents may be, there are some challenges Orange County has to face outside the county before opening up. In a press conference Monday, Governor Newsom said any decisions on reopening would be done in collaboration with other western states. Currently there is a Western Pact with California and four other Western states.
The City of Fountain Valley is accepting applications for emergency small business employee retention grants during Covid-19. The grant is geared towards those who make under $66,500 a year and is meant to help small businesses keep their employees through Covid-19.

The coronavirus economic relief package (H.R. 748) is now signed into law as the largest economic relief package in United States history. The $2.2 trillion relief package includes $377 billion for small business loans and grants. The bill also allocates $17 billion for deferring payments on small business loans and $10 billion in small business emergency grants.
Fountain Valley is waiving banner permit fees for businesses during quarantine. On March 23 the city of Fountain Valley posted a press release to their website saying the city will waive a $55 banner permit fee for businesses that want to apply for banners.
Fountain Valley City Manager, Rob Houston tells Experience FV city services will continue to operate and serve residents during quarantine. On Tuesday, March 18 the City of Fountain Valley published a press release stating they have activated the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This action will establish communication with the city and the local EOC.
Fountain Valley wants to expedite small restaurant openings by proposing a Small Format Restaurant Permit in place of the Conditional Use Permit.
