COVID-19 Impacts Graduations

Remember when you threw your graduation cap into the air celebrating liberation from your teacher overlords? Looking back at your graduation photos riddled with awkward hair styles, but huge smiles because you had yet to learn what it means to pay bills, graduation is a moment that many Americans celebrate as part of our way of life. Now imagine how the students of local Fountain Valley high schools having to deal with COVID-19 crashing their graduation party. Not so fun now, huh?

Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Donate Today!

Teresa Razo, owner of the Cambalache Grill, refuses for an entire class of local graduating seniors to suffer that fate. Razo has greater plans in mind.

Spearheading the Cares Initiative, Razo pulls from her large network of fellow entrepreneurs from the Fountain Valley Restaurant Association (F. V. R. A.) formed a Go Fund Me account where they will award 1,447 local graduating seniors a gift card that is redeemable at participating local Fountain Valley restaurants.

Students of the class of 2020 from Valley Vista High School, Los Amigos High School, and Fountain Valley High School can celebrate in style!

About $6,000 has been raised for the class of 2020 by Razo and the F.V.R.A. The goal is to have a total of about $50,000 raised in time for graduation. The deadline for the Cares Initiative is June 5th, 2020.
